No one wants to date me. What should I do?
I feel your pain. When I was in junior high, no girls liked me. In fact, I was labeled as the “weird kid.” I went to a new school and tried to reinvent myself (or at least shake the “weird kid” label.) I thought the way to do this was to find a girlfriend. After asking every girl out in the tri-state area, someone finally said “yes.” It didn’t matter who she was, I just wanted a girlfriend. The relationship ended in disaster. Dating without a purpose is a lot like driving a car while wearing a blindfold. The relationship (and the car) will eventually crash and hurt those involved. Many people rush into dating relationships because of their own insecurities. I’ve met happily married adults who’ve waited to date till after high school. I’ve also met single adults who began dating in 6th grade. The point is, IT’S OKAY IF YOU’RE NOT DATING YET. High school is a great time to develop friendships. Be careful not to miss out on life-long friendships because you were too preoccupied with the dating scene. |
